OVERVIEW:
The “You Make a Difference” awards began in 1999 as an opportunity to thank those involved in the lives of students with unique needs for their positive impact and contributions, and as a jointly-sponsored event by the District’s Special Education Department and Community Advisory Committee. Nominees represent a wide range of stakeholders and education partners, including students, staff, teachers, administrators, community members, and community organizations.
This year, 21 recipients will be recognized. While the honorees know they will be recognized at tomorrow’s event, they do not yet know why, or by whom. The nominations will be read at tomorrow’s event. Each recipient will receive a commemorative plaque, saluting their contributions.
